Jul. 22nd, 2014 02:12 pmLevi had done little fishing in his life up until recently, but like with most things that involved one or more pointy objects, he had a knack for it. Included in the small Survey Corps fleet was a rowboat for two. The thing was narrow, but along with its passengers it had space for a set of oars, a squat barrel, and a speargun.
It was Mikasa's first time out on the rowboat. The two sat facing each other, floating a few hundred meters behind the main caravan where the water was more tranquil. Levi lifted the speargun, clutching the grip in one hand and the barrel in the other. The metal was warm from exposure to the afternoon sun.
"The only trick is to aim low," he said. This Hange had actually taught him; apparently it was an optical illusion that had to do with something she'd referred to as refraction. "The other trick is to be patient. You watch right, I watch left. Just point when you see one. The less noise we make the better."
